Foundation for Pops empowers veterans and individuals experiencing homelessness to achieve economic stability through education, financial empowerment, workforce development, supportive services, and access to safe, affordable housing.
Foundation for Pops will eliminate barriers to economic stability for veterans and individuals experiencing homelessness by delivering financial empowerment, workforce development, and housing solutions through our Revive in Five model — ensuring every household we serve has a clear pathway to employment, benefits, and permanent affordable housing.
Our work focuses on serving veterans, very low-income individuals, and people facing homelessness throughout Southeastern Michigan as they take important steps toward secure housing and economic mobility.

We are committed to making a positive impact the communities we serve. Foundation for Pops is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to economic empowerment and affordable housing through education, assistance, and supportive services to veterans and those experiencing homelessness. Education, poverty, and socioeconomic mobility are closely linked, and we strive to impact those facing housing instability positively.
How we make an impact
Homelessness and economic disparity are multi-faceted, so we provide immediate assistance and long-term solutions. Our programming aims to address the root causes of homelessness and economic disparity by offering tailored action planning, personal development, education, Financial Capability, and access to affordable housing.
Initial intake to help determine what an individual needs to overcome current challenges
(homelessness, joblessness, identification, and documentation)
Create action items specific to the individuals’ needs to resolve the open challenges.
Enhancement of gaps in skills and resources to improve employment opportunities.
Assist clients in obtaining employment and providing coaching to improve their sustainability through DQS Solutions & Staffing.
Provide classes and counseling to ensure successful management of finances and credit to access housing.
Together, we will conquer the systemic barriers to end disparities and crises impacting our communities.

Honoring the Legacy That Started It All
Foundation for Pops began with the legacy of Lloyd “Pops” Matthews, whose life embodied service and compassion. Today, his example drives our commitment to uplifting veterans and those experiencing homelessness or financial hardship.
